A Gal’s Self-Improvement Kick

  • Posted on December 14, 2009 at 8:02 am

Charlene and I have been working oh-so-hard to work matters right in our worlds. When my third spousal relationship finished, (and let’s just say it “ended,” mmm’kay?) I only recognized it had become time to make a change. And not only any shift, I’m talkin’ a serious change, sweetheart.

But it just seems everyone wants to keep me down. Life’s so difficult, isn’t it? When I saw my physician to talk about the tummy tuck price I had been quoted, he only lectured me about finding the right form of fitness. He knows I’ve been doing everything I can, smearing on the scar zone cream and getting all my beauty salon equipment to earn their price.

Yet he only keeps lecturing me about diet and exercise, telling me my body will respond over the long term if I treat it like I care for it it.

He’s big on biking, but I enjoined him bike seats chafe me and I just can’t fathom wearing those tight cycling shirts. Is he attempting to humiliate me? At least he got a little more reasonable when he began speaking about things I could do in the solace of my own home.

Stationary bikes may certainly function easier for me than riding out in public and weight benches and mats for exercise are a bit more my speed.

Yet I also feel that I obtain enough exercise in my daily life. Only last calendar week I got tons of exercise pushing around Charlene’s garden cart while we decorated her patio for her sister’s birthday party. Arranging the garden bench layout for outside party seats after moving the Weber 751001 Charcoal Grill made for some good weight lifting. And then the stretches and effort necessary to make all those position right was like aerobics.

Does it sound like I am making excuses? I do not care, girl, that was hard work! After all that partyin’ and decoratin’ I bet I burned one thousand calories. I challenge some treadmill jogging sap to press garden carts around for four hours and see how they feel.

I don’t mean to seem whiny. I will get it all together. I just wish individuals would occasionally center on what I’ve accomplished instead of what I still need to complete. I know it isn’t simple being you, but it is not simple being me, either. We all have to work strong to be happy, I venture.

Body Jewelry – Should I Risk It?

  • Posted on December 14, 2009 at 7:44 am

Body piercing appears to be quite trendy these days. We see people young and surprisingly old, male and female, everywhere with body piercings of some kind. Although piercings used to be limited to the ears, today there isn’t a body part that you can name that someone hasn’t already pierced!

So what if you want to be part of this trend, but simply can’t bear the thought or the pain of being stuck with the needle and getting pierced or dealing with an opening in your skin that could possibly get an infection. Well, you might be able to have the gain with no pain, because there are other ways to embellish, express yourself, or be “cool” without actually piercing your body.

Today there is a considerable amount of body jewelry available that is non-piercing. Just look around; you can start with the Internet. You might be surprised at all the vast selection which is available. These pieces can be applied and made to adhere for a lengthy period of time. Put on correctly, they look no different from the real thing. Some people choose to wear this kind of jewelry for a very special occasion in order to add a bit of drama to their dress. And some people wear these any day of the week just for fun. There is non-piercing jewelry for the ears, arm, belly, lips, leg, foot, ears, nose, and even other more private parts of the body. Much of today’s non-piercing jewelry use 24K which improves the look and adds to the value of the piece. Obviously, other metals like sterling silver are available as well.

How do pieces work? What keeps them on?

Magnetic studs have a thin magnet that is placed behind the ear, between the lip and the gum or inside of the nose. These magnets are washable, and the magnetic attraction is strong enough to keep the jewelry piece well in place.

Spring action hoops are another kind of non-piercing body jewelry. This spring action works for rings that are meant to be worn on the lip, ear, belly, or nose and definitely looks quite similar to a genuine piercing.

Tongue balls are also available in some places. These act as a small suction cup which is pressed on the tongue and firmly adheres to the surface of the tongue.

You might want to think about actual body piercing long and very hard before you make your decision. This procedure is not always without risk. It must always be done properly, the biggest risk being an allergic reaction which might be caused by the metal, or from the cleaning products, or from any of the other products you might use when cleaning your piercing, soap or isopropyl alcohol. On the other hand, not cleaning your piercing can lead to some serious infection.

Any body piercing must be carefully nursed in the beginning and carefully “maintained” forever. Even the chlorine from a swimming pool can be risky for a piercing, as it can cause the skin near the piercing to dry and flake off. Other risks include excess scar tissue, bacterial infections, keloid formations, protozoan or parasitic infections, trauma, or viral infections. In lip and tongue piercings, you also risk certain kinds of gum erosion.

If you aren’t interested in dealingwith all of these possibilities, or if you know your own body to be of a hypersensitive nature, but sill really want the “look”, the most sensible choice for you would be non-piercing jewelry. Putting any one of these kinds of non-piercing body jewelry on is not at all painful, and they are all very comfortable to wear. Another big advantage for this kind of jewelry is that they are temporary. So, if you should decide that this is not the style for you, there is no hole in your body left behind. Most importantly, non-piercing body jewelry is quite safe. So, before you decide to put that hole somewhere on your body, just try to consider your options.

How to Get a Car Rental

  • Posted on December 14, 2009 at 7:42 am

There’s more to renting the car than just reserving it and paying for it, to make sure that you get the best deal follow these steps and tips.

STEPS:

1.Choose three to four car rental firms that fit your wants and needs, do this either through the phonebook, or through the internet, remember to scan every possible firm before you make a choice, you don’t want to overlook the best car rental because you got bored from looking

2.Contact the agency and ask about their special offers, location, availability, pickup sites, rates, special rates, hotel and airline partnerships, extra charges, insurance, everything you can think of that can help lower what you have to pay for your car rental, or what would make the car rental more convenient for you.

3.Choose a pickup point; find one that is near you so it won’t be a hassle, some car rental companies pay for the cab ride you have to take, some pick you up at your home or at the airport to take you to your rental.

4.Pick a car, depending on your needs, find a car that could fit all the people you’ll have in it, and if you’re alone just use a compact, some rentals charge higher for larger vehicles.

5.The next thing to do, after you’ve totally decided on which to take, remember to reserve it, some car rentals include the reservation fee on the overall rent, some make it out to be an extra fee, you should also look out for this when get a car rental.

TIPS

For the best deals for your money here are some tips when looking, finding and taking out a car rental.

1.When getting a car rental check for available upgrades at no charge, you’d want the best deal so you’d want the best car, to do this, you should go pickup your car early in the morning, when the other cars haven’t been returned yet, this way there would be a shortage on economy cars and the firm might just give you an upgrade for a lower price.

2.Get an internet car rental. These types of rentals offer internet only discounts, and sometimes even accepts find a car at your own price methods where you just give them your budget and they’ll find the best deal for you, plus you wont have to go anywhere to get a rental.

3.Fill the gas tank before you return your car, car rentals will charge you, at an inflated price, the cost of the gas needed to fill the tank.

4.Look for packages like fly-drive-stay or fly-drive, these will get you great discounts on rentals, and what’s more you won’t have to worry about other details like a hotel or an airline, everything’s there. You can find these packages on must travel agencies.

5.If your frequent flyer discount or free flight is about to expire, there are some car rental companies that offer to exchange these discounts to discounts on your car rental, although its more cost effective to just fly with your frequent flyer discount, if its going to expire anyway, why wait?

These are just a few of the things you’ll need to know, but always remember to be pesky, ask questions, ask for discounts, the only reason why people don’t get better value for the things they buy is because they’re too shy to ask.

5 Easy Weight Loss Tips

  • Posted on December 14, 2009 at 7:35 am

Weight loss doesn’t have to be difficult and depressing. In fact, it should be motivational and rewarding. Here are five great tips to help ensure your experience when losing weight is a positive one.

1. Go ahead, indulge yourself! It’s just not reasonable to think you’ll be able to stick to a lifestyle of deprivation. Every now and again it’s fine to splurge and have something you really like. The trick is portion control: instead of having a three scoop monster ice cream cone, get a child’s size.

2. Eat breakfast. When your sleeping your body actually kicks into a kind of “fasting mode.” You “break the fast” when you eat breakfast (thus the name). In fact, if you can eat breakfast within an hour of getting out of bed, you may actually boost your metabolism and burn calories better throughout the day.

3. Try something new. When trying to lose weight, it’s easy to fall into a rut of eating the same foods all the time because you know they’re “safe.” But there are thousands of varieties out there that are healthy and tasty. Read the labels and try something new in the way of ethnic or exotic foods.

4. Talk to yourself. No, it doesn’t mean you’re crazy! Positive “self-talk” really does help lift your spirits and keep you motivated.

5. Take your vitamins. A good multi-vitamin will ensure your nutritional needs are being met. This is especially important if you’re on a diet plan that restricts certain kinds of foods.

The best way to lose weight is through exercise. I know because I lost 45 lbs in six months — and kept it off!

Brown Carly

  • Posted on December 14, 2009 at 7:04 am

Let me introduce you to Carly. Carly lives larger than life. She is trim and light. Really she is pretty cool! The first Coach was originally designed after a brown paper bag, did you know that? Since 1962, inspiration for Coach’s handbags and purses has not changed much.

Now more then ever it seems we are in need of a larger purse, handbag or tote that is practical yet functional enough to conceal prosaic items we cannot leave behind. Besides the mundane everyday squibs such as a cell phone, wallet and keys, we do on occasion need to carry things we want to keep undisclosed. What could a woman want that needs to be kept concealed?

Coach Bag Carly Signature secretly wants to spend the weekend hanging out with Mr. Handsome but doesn’t want him to know she already invited herself over with her weekend tote bag all ready to go. Having a weekend bag ready in the trunk of your car doesn’t really scream romance. It’s just tacky to excuse yourself to your car to pick up the already premeditated weekend bag. It is one thing to be prepared, but another to seem eager don’t you think?

Cheap Coach Carly Handbags isn’t like that. She can keep a secret about the necessities and unmentionables that are hidden in a woman’s purse so Mr. Handsome doesn’t think you are trying to move in. The Large Carly Leather Signature purse, tote or handbag zips tight to keep a woman’s enigma furtive.

Can you imagine yourself on a date with Mr. Handsome using a tote that doesn’t zip and accidentally disclosing your romantic desires for the world to see? Oops! Mr. Handsome suddenly gets a phone call and now finds Mr. Guys-guy’s birthday party down at O’Connell’s more enticing than your pajamas and toothbrush. Don’t let Mr. Handsome run away with Mr. Guys-guy because you decided to be cheap instead of spending a few extra dollars on a Carly Leather handbag that could have kept your inclinations discrete. You can be practical without looking like Allison Reynolds (Ally Sheedy) from The Breakfast Club. Women should always be prepared for what life has to offer.

Seriously, there are two ways to mess around. It’s called cleaning up the mess around the restaurant floor after spilling the intimate contents from your purse. Then there is cleaning up the mess trying to explain to Mr. Handsome that your intentions were good. I don’t know about you but I don’t feel the need to explain myself to Mr. Handsome.

Now besides having a handbag that serves a greater purpose, the Carly Signature Large by Coach comes in a variety of different patchwork designs, colors and canvases. My personal favorites are the classic, Coach Carly large authentic khaki/black purse handbag, and the Signature Denim with patent trim Large Carly because of its lightweight and durable signature fabric with crinkle patent leather trim and size.

The patchwork and canvas designs on the Carly Large are made with either Coach’s patent leather or canvas materials ranging from holiday styles coordinated in warm browns, oranges, reds and black, to summer styles in blue, pink and white as well as tradition brown and black.

Coach Carly Handbag is not just a Coach, she’s a lady!
