Black Soho

  • Posted on April 24, 2010 at 8:41 am

Soho – district in Manhattan noted for its old warehouses converted into restaurants, galleries and theaters.

These astounding classic mini bags, wallets or purses are perfect for the theater, art gallery observing, or dining out. To name a Coach line Soho is genius! It is like the fine wine of handbags or accessories. It is classic by design.

The Pink Soho Coach Purse is a classic because it is the best of the best by Coach. It is the fine wine of Coach purses. It is the quality of the past that fits the trends of today. What makes the Soho so special? Besides their Signature materials, this small purse is the hallmark of a woman’s daintiness, femininity, endurance, style and grace.

Soho’s are perfect for any occasion. I use my black patent leather Soho with silver buckles daily because it compliments everything in my wardrobe. I absolutely adore this bag. I use it for just about anything from shopping to throwing it around when I am feeling a little less than graceful. You really cannot go wrong with Black Coach Soho Signature Purse.

Let’s talk about durability. The Soho is also so incredibly durable that it can withstand my toddler’s destructive little fingers. This bag did not become a classic because it was crafted from cheap materials put together sparingly. It is classic because of Coach’s signature materials and vintage hobo design that are guaranteed to outlast any trend, style or fad.

The strap is small enough to be hand held without looking like a dingle berry but long enough to be held under your arm incase you need a free hand. My Soho is a zipper top handbag, but I also like the flip top design Soho in tweed brown, blue and black. It is more modern vintage than my Soho because it captures the essence of the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Let’s face it; the 80’s were not all that glamorous. Florescent colors such as pink were only hot because they fit the social trends to deviate from the norm to explore our individualities. The Baby Boom era accelerated world industries by making goods faster and cheaper. However Coach knows that trends of the past are destine to return, so they put a little spin on the classic 80’s style making Soho’s in tweed. Tweed was originally called twill because it was made of unfinished woolen fabric woven into a twill pattern instead of a plain one.

Have you ever noticed that a couch made with tweed has outlasted the ones made of other fabrics? Coach knows that quality is better than quantity. So it produces products that will last. Tweed use to be customary because it is moisture-resistant and durable but became obsolete because of the rate at which the economy was booming. Therefore most companies switched to more cost effective goods such as cotton and polyester.

Whatever your flavor: red, green, white, pink, brown, black, small, large, mini bags, wallets or purses, Coach has got it all. It is a little more expensive, but you know it will last. I mean last; not just as in it will not fall apart, but last as in; whatever the trend happens to be, you know that the Soho line and hobo design will always be in.

The Coach Soho Signature Large Hobo reminds me of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey Hepburn is the icon of vintage style. She is the fine wine of early Hollywood traditions and a legend not just by talent but by beauty and grace, a face that will live forever. Like the Coach Soho, a fine wine of early trends that became a legend not just by craftsmanship but by the beauty and grace they bring to any woman. Maybe a Soho won’t make you look like Audrey Hepburn, but it sure will make you feel like her.

Dog Pictures

Everyone enjoys taking pictures of their cats. With the new technology we have in today’s digital cameras taking a picture is easier than ever. It is an absolute snap to take some really funny pet pictures and send those pictures off to family.

What is really awesome about the digital world that we live in today allows us to take pet pics galore for a very low cost. Then you can email or post onto websites the pictures we decide to show off. You can also take those same pet pics and crop, then cut and paste that pic and make a gorgeous collage.
This could have taken hours of hard work in the past, but can now be done with a few clicks of the mouse.

Something else that is neat about today’s digital world is we can post your pet pictures on many different web pages and show off your cat to the world!

A quick word on bylaws.  Every city you go will have a different law about the kind of pet you are allowed to own.  You will find that the laws for Toronto pets may or may not be completely different from another city’s laws.  This is mainly having to do with restrictions on the types of pets  such as an exotic monkey, or a breed of dog that has been banned from a city.

The pet of my choice at my place is a dog. Not that I don’t love cats, but unfortunately I have allergies that keep me from living close to cats or sheep for that matter. Our dog is a large mixed breed that needs some training, but is good for the most part. As I work here she sits at my feet waiting for the sound of the computer to shut off. She knows right then that bedtime has arrived and her morning run is getting closer.

The Four P’s

  • Posted on April 24, 2010 at 7:10 am

Nearly every company on the planet sets out with the primary objective of earning money. This is usually done by producing some form of product, or offering a service, and then charging people money for it.

Firstly, it is a very rare case where a business can offer a product or service that is truly unique and cannot be provided by anybody else. This means that your enterprise will be contesting with other businesses that sell a similar product and you will both be trying to earn money from the same shoppers, who only want to spend their cash once.

Marketing is the primary tool used by modern firms to draw prospective customers to do business with them and not with their rivals. It is a very extensive topic that is affected by a great number of internal and external factors, but when done well it can be the single business practice that could make or break a company.

So where should you start when creating a marketing strategy for your own company? Well, every situation is different, and each company will have its own set of advantages and weaknesses that must be taken into consideration, but there is a marketing principle that can be applied to almost any company to be used as a marketing platform. It is called the “Marketing Mix”.

The Marketing Mix

The marketing mix was a phrase that was first coined during the 1950’s and is an expression that is used to express the fundamental building blocks of any marketing strategy. It demonstrates the fact that marketing is not a straightforward, blunt-edged business tool, but rather a subtle balance of different aspects of business functions.

The term was later developed to include the concept of “four P’s” that described the critical elements of the marketing mix. The formalisation of these P’s made it very easy for company managers and marketers to swiftly associate the elements of marketing to the strengths of their own companies, and by doing so could very quickly create a tailored and efficient marketing plan. The four P’s are; Product, Price, Place and Promotion.

The “product” aspect of the four P’s could refer to a service, like balloon decorators, or any kind of non-physical asset being provided for sale by a company.

Product

Although every aspect of the marketing mix is a necessity, the “product” element mentioned as one of the four P’s is possibly the most crucial of all. It describes the physical product or intangible service that your company will be offering, and at the end of the day it is the reason that customers are going to spend money with you. If this element is not adequately managed then your company will find it hard to make it through.

Many people do not think that marketing has any place to play when it comes to the physical product that your business is selling. In fact, the typical train of thought very often bears the exact opposite sentiment. Surely it should be the opposite way around – your production department creates an item for sale and then it is the task of the marketing department to find ways to sell it, right?

Consider the computer software market as an example. There are many established brands of both operating system as well as software application products in the marketplace already, and since the market is fairly well saturated it would be very tough (and expensive) to “take on the big boys”. So how could the principles of the marketing mix help in this situation?

Rather than developing an operating system and then attempting to craft a marketing strategy to rival the likes of Microsoft or Apple, it would be far more effective to look at what types of product are desired in the current marketplace, and how feasible it would be to produce and sell them. By being mindful of the marketing mix early on in your product development period you can avoid business dead-ends at a later time.

Once your goods have been designed and created it is still a critical skill to be able to objectively evaluate your own products to recognise the reasons that a customer should buy your product rather than a competitors’. The technique is called product differentiation and forms one of the fundamental skills of the product part of the marketing mix cake.

A different form of this part of the marketing mix is called product variation and is typically used to either extend the lifecycle of a product already in the market, or to make your brand new product attractive to as many customers as possible. Once again, this method can be applied at all stages of product development.

The car industry uses this technique very effectively by offering different engines, trim packages and interior options with the cars that they offer. They use the marketing mix to good effect to sell their own products in an extremely competitive marketplace.

As part of our own promotion plan, our satin sashes salesforce carefully studied exactly what made our products stand out from the crowd.

Price

Another important factor in the marketing mix concerns the price of your products or services. This is not a simple case of performing market research to determine the highest price that your customers would spend (although that can be a handy tool to use), but rather using the price of your products as a strategic tool designed to achieve any particular targets your company has.

Whilst it may seem obvious, it’s still worth noting that price has always been, and likely always will be, one of the key factors that customers take into account when they are making a purchase. It is also worth noting that customers don’t constantly consider the lowest price to be the best price.
There are many questions that you need to ask yourself when devising a good pricing plan, key amongst which are the price sensitivity of your clients, what your competitors are doing and how can pricing maximise your own profits. From a strategy point of view though, pricing can be covered by two primary principals; price skimming and also penetration pricing. These are outlined below.

Price skimming

The main idea behind price skimming is to make as much money as possible from the sector of the market which is price-insensitive and are going to be willing to spend a large amount of money to receive a product or service early on.

This pricing technique is very often used in the consumer electronics industry where customers will often eagerly await the release of a new mobile phone or computer games console. Manufacturers could set almost any price they wanted to and there would still be a loyal base of customers that would pay it. By making use of this method as part of a pre-ordering strategy, a company can help to smooth its own cash flow.

Penetration pricing

Penetration pricing is at the other end of the pricing spectrum, and is tailored towards gaining a large market share at a short-term cost so that financial rewards can be earned long into the future. It can be a risky strategy, but when employed correctly it can setup revenue streams for many years to come.

Another thing to keep in mind is that “price” is the one part of the marketing mix that will generate earnings for a business. The other members of the four P’s will all cost money to create or undertake. So it is even more vital to get your pricing strategy right.

After using on-line tools to compare key phrase lookup frequency we identified party sashes to direct our campaign for online promotion as well as off-line advertising materials.

Place

Place is the part of the marketing mix that’s often disregarded by companies, but it’s still a significant part of selling your product successfully. In a nutshell, it describes the way in which you deliver your product to your consumer, and subsequently how you receive money from them. It can be a fantastic marketing approach when applied appropriately.

The most common implications of place-based marketing are the physical venues in which your products are sold. For the majority of consumer products, this includes the distribution infrastructure between your manufacturing centres and shops and other outlets around the world. Since distribution of a physical product costs money it is crucial to determine your own priorities and modify your distribution network appropriately.

With the growing use of the Internet by your prospective customers, marketing methods have had to consider how they use the Internet to help distribute their products. By using the Internet as a point of contact (or even as an entire distribution route in download-based markets such as MP3s) firms are now able to reach out to a huge pool of potential customers.

Promotion

When you say the word “marketing”, many people immediately think of the promotional side of the marketing mix, although as we have seen, this is only one branch of a more complete system. Promotion can be employed on a very individual basis or as a mass communication tool, and whilst it might be a costly undertaking it is often an important one. The primary concern of promotion is to deliver a particular message that will boost sales.

Advertising is one of the most common forms of promotion. Typically it would be done by posting on billboards, producing short clips for TV and radio or by physically handing out flyers or leaflets to potential buyers. With the coming of the information age we have witnessed a great increase in promotion via e-mail and the Internet, or just as targeted advertising materials posted through your front door.

Another important part of promotion involves branding, which may not necessarily yield more product sales directly, but goes back to one of the initial functions of marketing; getting customers to pick your product over those of your rivals.

Putting it into Practice

As previously mentioned each company is unique and will have different marketing requirements. By using a mixture of the four P’s discussed above you can take a good view of your own marketing strategy.
